Your child is researching a country of their choice.
HOWEVER, your child is doing the research, brochure, and PowerPoint IN CLASS. They can do additional research at home,
but that is entirely optional.
*The only aspect that is required from home, is the 2-4
artifacts. Due on Monday, May 21.
Component 2: Artifacts
The student must create
2-4 artifacts related to their country. These artifacts can be
models or representations of the original thing. Items can be
handmade.
Examples:
Possible
options: clothing, musical CDs, instruments, traditional art, food, clay models
of landmarks, dioramas of the habitat, etc. Please include name on all
artifacts.
**If your
child chooses food...
Please bring it in on
Thursday, May 24 for the presentation time, if it is perishable. If it is
non-perishable, they must bring it in with the rest of their artifacts on
Monday, May 21.
***Homemade Food must contain a note regarding allergy
information. We have nuts, eggs, and
milk allergies.***
-
Please look at all of your ingredients. Look to see if it says it may contain nuts, peanut oil, milk, or eggs.
-
If none of your child's ingredients have that phrase (or your child didn't use nuts, peanut oil, milk, or eggs), please send a note saying that the food is allergy-free.
-
If any ingredient states that (or your child actually use nuts, peanut oil, milk, or eggs), please send a note saying that the food item has an allergy.
We are presenting on May 24 to our class and any family members
who are able to attend.
We will have two
presentation times. Your child is only presenting once. If you are able to
attend on May 24, please pick one time and sign up on the wiki link below. I
will be sure to let your child present during the time you will be here. If you
cannot attend, it is okay, your child will still present, and fill in any
slots.
Please think carefully
of when you are most likely able to attend. You don't have to sign up right
away, I won't make the schedule of children presenting until a day or two before
May 24. I just wanted to allow you enough time to take off work, if you wanted
and if your schedule was not flexible.
