Chapter 1 Science Test Study Hints

The students will be administered an assessment on the information we have covered all year long. 

Study Hints:

1. Know the academic vocabulary that has been assigned for homefun.
2. In your textbook, go over the questions at the end of Lesson 1, Lesson 2, and Lesson 3 in Chapter 1.
3. In your textbook, go over the questions on pages 66-67.
4. In your textbook, go over the questions on pages 64-65.

You do not have to turn anything in. This is to help YOU!

If you would like to take your homefun journal home on Friday after Ms. Caldwell checks it, you may. It must come back to school Tuesday, September 1.

If you would like to keep your textbook home until Tuesday, September 1, you may. You do not have to check with Ms. Caldwell.

Science Extra Credit Opportunity First Quarter

Extra Credit Opportunity (For an extra 100 test grade):

Choose ONE option:

1. Your child views (or already viewed) the Humpback Whales 3D at the Pink Palace Museum, and writes a short report about the movie. (For example, the animal's inherited and learned behaviors, adaptations, habitats, predators, prey, and the habitat in which they live.)

The Pink Palace's show schedule and the prices are $7.00-CHILD (3-12) $8.00-SENIOR (60+) $9.00-ADULT (13-59). 

2. Your child researches humpback whales and writes a short report about their inherited and learned behaviors, adaptations, habitats, predators, prey, and the habitat in which they live.) A references/citations page must be included.

Viewing Cells with Microscopes

Cell Assessment Friday, August 14

Students will take a cell assessment tomorrow. The assessment will cover the parts of plant and animal cells and that all living things are made up of cells. I know this is short notice. However, I am just learning the pacing of this group of students, and I feel they are ready. In addition, they will be required to use the notes/diagrams/information in their science journals that are kept at school. (This journal cannot go home, but the concepts are the same as their homefun words.)
