Family Gathering on October 5

Our Family Gathering Presentation on Trustworthiness will be on Friday October 5. We hope you can come! (It starts around 8:00 and is held in the playroom.)

Vocabulary for next week with the part of speech needed for some of the definitions. (This is all of the words. These words are due next Friday, Sept 7.)

Reading Homefun will only be 3 worksheets in the packet. (One of the worksheets will have an X through it. This is the one to skip! Unless you really want to work on it.)

Grandparents' Day at Campus School

  • Next Friday (Sept. 7) is Grandparents' Day at Campus School. It will be different from the past years. Your child's grandparent(s) are invited to Family Gathering that morning (8am) and then breakfast immediately following in our classroom-Room 103.

Vocabulary for Because of Winn-Dixie

Vocabulary for next week with the part of speech needed for the definition. (This is all of the words. We reduced the list to eight words. These words are due next Friday, August 31.)

  3. prideful (adj.) the arrogant definition
  4. installment plan (n)
  5. drooped (v)

  7. barreling (online it says its the slang definition) Example: "He went barreling through the crowd."
  8. pathological (adj). the habitual definition

Vocabulary homefun Starts Next Week

Each child has a set of index cards with each required vocabulary word already written in the middle.

In the top left corner, your child must look up the word and write the definition from a dictionary (online dictionaries are fine). (The words that have multiple meanings are listed below.)

In the top right corner, write a sentence using the word that shows you understand it. (Underline the word.)

In the bottom left corner, draw a picture representing the word.

In the bottom right corner, write a synonym OR write the meaning of the word in your (as in your child)'s own words.

Turn in by Friday morning.
