Presentation and Updates

 Thank you for all of your condolences. It is good to be back!  

Updates:
Skate Night: Friday, February 28
We raised almost $70.00 from the loose change for the Book Fair fundraiser! Way to go!
Spring Break is the weeks of March 10 and March 17

Our The African American Citizens Who Made a Difference presentations will be next WEDNESDAY, MARCH 5th @ 1:30 in our room. Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, godparents, and any other loved ones are invited!

The students have been making the presentation in class. They have the OPTION to dress as their person for any of the presentation choices. The costume part will have to be done at home, if they choose to. They may bring the costume to school on Tuesday or Wednesday, but they will have to change into before our presentations. They have to wear uniform clothes the rest of the day.

  

Vocabulary Parade

I am asking that ALL words be chosen by next Friday, March 7.

Vocabulary Parade Description:
Each child learns a new word and depicts themselves as that word. It is a learning experience for themselves, plus any of their friends in the audience that remembers what they dressed as. In order to save valuable instructional time, I am asking the families to chose a word with your child (that they do not already know) and create a depiction (costume) of that word. In addition, your child must be able to say the word and give a short definition of it. It is usually easiest to choose an adjective, but feel free to choose anything.

Holiday Giving Opportunity

           In the spirit of giving, the Campus School students will be collecting items December 16^th – December 20^th for Moriah House.  Moriah House is Memphis Union Mission’s safe house for women and their children.  In our tough economic times, Moriah House needs our help more than ever.  This year there are seven children ages 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, as well as a two month old infant who will benefit from your generosity. Campus School families can help by donating the following items.

 Monday: Paper Products 

·                  toilet paper

·                  paper towels

·                  Kleenex-regular and purse size

·                  diapers ( two month old baby)

·                  paper plates/napkins

 Tuesday: Toiletry Items

·                  baby wipes

·                  toothpaste/toothbrushes

·                  soap/deodorant

·                  bath/shower gel

·                  lotion – adult and baby

 Wednesday: Cleaning Products

·                  dish washing detergent

·                  laundry detergent

·                  Clorox wipes

 Thursday: School Supplies       

·                  notebooks

·                  highlighters

·                  pens/crayons/markers

·                  paper

 Friday:  Non-Perishable Food Items * If you bring one canned food item, you may wear jeans to school. If you bring two canned items you may wear jeans and a holiday or other appropriate top to school!
