• February 21: "It's Trivia Time!" (Pink Sheet about Black History Month) Due  (students received on Feb. 7)
• February 23: Picture Day (Class and Individual) Money must be sent on Picture Day

• March 2: Jump Rope for Heart in Field House from 10:00 - 11:15
• March 2: Students must complete through episode 35 in Headsprout to participate in extra recess and a treat.
• Spring Break begins March 5.

HeadSprout Challenge #2!

Announcing a new Headsprout Challenge for the third grade students this nine weeks!

It is now Episode 35 by March 2! (Not very catchy.)

If your child completes (at least) up to and including episode 35 by Friday, March 2nd, he/she will receive an extra 30-minute recess and ice cream with the rest of the third graders who also achieved this goal!

If your child did not finish the goal from the first nine-weeks, they will need to complete that as well.

100th Day on Monday!

Your child may wear their 100 anniversary T-Shirt on Monday in celebration of the 100th day of school!

Vocabulary Hopscotch Homefun Puzzle Maker

For the hopscotch, the fourth jump has the choice of making a cross-word puzzle.  This is different than the word search.

There are free online programs to do this with much ease.

1. Google Puzzle Maker
2. Click on the link for Discovery Education's Puzzle Maker
3. Click on the puzzle entitled Criss-Cross
4. And your child is now at the free crossword puzzle maker (or follow this link PuzzleMaker)

The reason we have changed it to a crossword versus a word search is so the student has more exposure with the defintion. A wordsearch puzzle is best for helping with spelling, however, the focus of this exercise is to aid in learning the meaning of each word.

The clue will be the definition, and the answer will be the vocabuarly word.
